Communication
VTCDC believes that communication with parents is an important part of our educational partnership. Regular notices of events, menus or other matters are posted throughout the VTCDC and also sent home with each child.
Any communication regarding your child’s progress will be sent home to the parents. If you have any questions or concerns regarding your child’s progress, please address them to your child’s teacher directly.
If at any time you have a concern with your child’s teacher please do not discuss the concerns in the classroom in the presence of the children. Set up a scheduled conference with your child’s teacher. After the scheduled conference you do not see that your concerns were resolved contact the Director for a scheduled conference.
Open Door and Policy
You are always welcome to stop in and observe your child’s progress and interaction within the classroom. We encourage you to call the VTCDC to arrange your visit or notify the Director in advance. The Director is available to discuss with you any needs you may have.
Please note that we do observe a 2-hour rest time everyday please be respectful of the children who are resting and try not to disturb them. We ask that parents limit their visits to the classroom to 15 minutes unless pre-approved by the Director. It is important to the children in our care to have little disruption to their daily routines so that we can foster consistency in our schedules.
All visitors must first report to the office and obtain a Visitor’s Pass before proceeding to any classroom or other parts of the VTCDC facility. All non-staff adults at all time while in the facility require a Visitor Pass.
