CHILDREN'S HEALTH
Immunization records must be complete and recorded in the VTCDC office before a child may attend any program offered by the VTCDC. Informal daily inspections are made regarding the health of the children in our care. Children who appear ill or feverish are taken to the office and parents are called. Parents must pick up their children if the staff determines that there is a case of fever, diarrhea or vomiting that warrants your child being at home rather than at school. In the event that your child has been exposed to a contagious virus, a notice will be issued and posted in your child’s classroom informing you of the illness and symptoms to look for. It is your responsibility to be aware of such notices or postings. If your child has a fever, diarrhea or is vomiting, they should not return to VTCDC until they have sought medical attention or are free of these symptoms for 24 hours.
Please do not bring your child to school or allow your child attend classes if your child displays the following symptoms:
* Fever of 100 degrees or more * Diarrhea * Vomiting * Severe coughing * Difficulty breathing * Yellowish eyes or skin * Conjunctivitis (pink eye) – Must be under treatment for 24 hours prior to returning to school * Chicken pox – Must remain at home until all lesions are dried over * Head lice * Impetigo * Runny nose with yellow or green discharge, or
* Any other condition that may be deemed contagious.
